China is the largest machine tool producer and consumer in the world, with a global machine tool output of 29.4% (2012) and machine tool consumption of 45.1% (2012). Since the second half of 2011, due to the severe domestic and international situation, China's machine tool industry has ended its blowout development for nearly 10 years and gradually entered the adjustment period. In 2012, the growth rate of the total output value and sales value of China's machine tool industry decreased by 19.8 and 19.3 percentage points from the previous year respectively. In 2013, it was still sluggish. Industrial output value and sales output only increased by 6.0% and 5.5% from the previous year.
CNC machine tools are one of the fastest-growing products in the Chinese machine tool industry. In 2012, the CNC machined rate of CNC machine tools in China was 25.8%, and the numerical control of CNC machine tools was 5.8%. It is expected that its CNC rates will be 29.2% and 6.8% in 2013 and will reach 37.0% and 7.6% by 2015.
