This message comes from Brian Murphy:
On March 18, 1975, the Waukegan News-Sun reported on a dramatic incident involving multiple fires at an apartment complex located just across from the old downtown Waukegan Fire Station. The cause of the fires was a failure in the gas distribution system, which led to several blazes breaking out at once throughout the building.
The Waukegan Fire Department responded with their Hi-Ranger Snorkel and a vintage Seagrave aerial ladder truck from the mid-1950s, a 85-foot, three-section apparatus. These firefighters worked quickly and efficiently to rescue those in danger. The photos were captured by News-Sun photographer Don Martin, offering a glimpse into a historic firefighting operation.
It's hard to imagine that the crews who responded to this call are still active today—most likely they’ve long since retired. It’s a fascinating look back at the past, and a tribute to the bravery of those who served.

Hand Movement Dump Truck
Dump trucks come in various sizes, ranging from small ones used for residential construction projects to large ones used in mining operations. They are typically equipped with powerful engines and robust suspension systems to handle heavy loads and rough terrains.
Safety features such as rear-view cameras, backup alarms, and advanced braking systems are often incorporated into dump trucks to ensure the safety of both the operator and those working around the vehicle.
Overall, dump trucks play a crucial role in the transportation of materials, making them an essential component of many industries that rely on the efficient movement of bulk materials.
