At 01:47 AM, the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire District responded to a reported structure fire on the 300 block of Goshawk Lane in unincorporated Deerfield. As crews were en route, the RED Center (Regional Emergency Dispatch Center) notified them that police had already arrived on scene and confirmed the fire was fully involved. Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story, multi-unit townhome complex with heavy fire coming from the roof. They immediately deployed a hose line for fire suppression and began confirming that all residents had safely evacuated. Fortunately, the fire remained contained to the unit of origin.The adjacent buildings were inspected for any signs of fire spread, and it was determined that only minimal damage occurred. A Mutual Aid Box alarm was activated to bring in more personnel and fire investigators. Authorities are currently working to determine the cause of the fire and the extent of the damages.The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods FPD was supported by firefighters from Deerfield, Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, Wheeling, Northbrook, Arlington Heights, Prospect Heights, Highland Park, Countryside, Glencoe, and Northfield, as well as the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the RED Center.
