McHenry FPD updates

Karl Klotz, Steve Redick, and Larry Shapiro recently visited all five stations of the McHenry Township Fire Protection District to review and update their apparatus. Along with the introduction of new equipment, the department is also in the process of renumbering its fire vehicles, a step that reflects ongoing modernization efforts across the area. During the visit, several new and updated units were photographed. The fleet included three ambulances, two engines, two tenders, and a brand-new boat. This expansion marks a significant shift in the department's capabilities, especially with the addition of multiple tenders. McHenry has transitioned from having just one tender to now operating with three, with each station except the downtown location now equipped with one. The new twin 3,500-gallon tenders were built by US Tanker on 2013 IHC 7500 chassis with extended cabs. Tender 1272 is stationed at Station 2, while Tender 1274 is located at Station 4. The department has also upgraded its engine fleet. Two new Pierce Impel XM engines have been introduced since the last update, with one being relocated. These engines are now on the Impel XM chassis instead of the previous Velocity model. Engine 41 is at Station 1, Engine 43 at Station 3, and Engine 44 at Station 4 was previously known as Engine 10 at Station 1. Two more engines are currently on order, with deliveries scheduled every six months. In addition to the engines, the ambulance fleet has seen some updates. The newest ambulance is a 2013 Type I Osage unit stationed at Station 4, labeled Ambulance 54. Another new ambulance, a 2012 Type I AEV, is at Station 1 as Ambulance 51. Ambulance 52, a 2010 Osage Type I, was also added to the fleet at Station 2. The department’s watercraft has also been expanded. Boat 1292, a 24-foot rigid-hull vessel built by Clark Boats in 2013, is now stationed at Station 2. This addition enhances the department’s ability to respond to water-related emergencies.

Aluminium Battery Tray For New Energy Vehicles

An aluminium battery tray is a component used in vehicles to hold the battery securely in place. It is typically made of lightweight and durable aluminium material, which makes it resistant to corrosion and damage from exposure to harsh weather conditions. The tray is designed to fit the specific dimensions of the battery and is mounted to the vehicle's chassis using bolts or other fasteners. The tray helps to prevent the battery from moving around during vehicle operation, which can cause damage to the battery and other components. It also provides a secure and stable mounting point for the battery, ensuring reliable electrical connections and optimal performance.20230429100638 Png20230429100614 Png
