Today, the acceptance of the “Electronic Equipment Digital Design Technology” major project of the “Eleventh Five-Year” National Science and Technology Support Program “Development of Multi-functional Agricultural Equipment and Facilities” has completed and made China’s pioneering development in this technology field.

Professor Mao Enrong said: "The research on the digital design technology of agricultural equipment and the establishment of a modern design system for agricultural equipment that is a combination of digital modeling, virtual design and virtual prototype technology are aimed at enhancing the product R&D capabilities of China's agricultural equipment design and manufacturing enterprises and accelerating their own knowledge. The development of property rights products will shorten the gap between China's agricultural equipment design and the developed countries."

The study of the subject has formed a digital design technology system platform suitable for typical agricultural equipment products such as tractors and combine harvesters, and a series of norms and guidelines corresponding thereto; it has reduced defects in product design and corrected errors in the early stages of product design. This will reduce prototype assembly problems by 60% to 80%, reduce design changes and rework rates by more than 50%, and increase the success rate of product design. A set of agricultural equipment virtual reality system platform for ergonomics and virtual prototyping testing was established to achieve tractor performance test reproduction, field operation simulation, motion flow field inspection, product modeling design inspection, cab man-machine interaction roaming, and people Machine engineering design evaluation and other functions.

“In the product design process, designers can carry out relevant inspections and analysis of the designed products in the virtual reality environment, identify problems and correct them in a timely manner, reduce the design error rate and improve design efficiency,” said Professor Mao Enrong.

It is reported that in the three pilot demonstration bases built by China Yituo Group Co., Ltd., Foton Lovol Heavy Industry International Co., Ltd. and Shandong Shifeng (Group) Co., Ltd., 28 typical models of typical agricultural machinery have been tested and demonstrated; Product design, trial production, and testing cost more than 30%; product design cycle shortened by more than 30%, enabling new products to be put into the market faster, and winning more economic benefits for the company.

At the same time, Professor Mao Enrong led the research group to build a virtual simulation environment system platform for electromechanical and multi-system co-simulation based on the four-degree-of-freedom machine-electro-hydraulic motion simulation platform and three-channel virtual reality environment. The field trajectory simulation of sprinkler irrigation field, special conditions simulation and autonomous navigation and other semi-physical simulation tests provide a good research platform for the optimization design of large-scale irrigation machines, field operation simulation and job performance analysis.

Professor Mao Enrong said: "Our research is not only aimed at a few large-scale agricultural machinery manufacturers in China, but also in the field of agricultural equipment throughout China."

Large enterprises can establish PDM/PLM product resource management platforms, develop digital design platforms integrating CAD, CAE, VP, and VR, and conduct parallel-based network-based design to support collaborative research in the field of collaborative innovation and digitization. For small and medium-sized agricultural equipment manufacturing enterprises, based on the scale and cost of their product development, first of all improve the CAD digital design platform, and gradually build CAE auxiliary engineering platform; in addition can also be common with universities, research institutes and other large enterprises Product design and development.
