The first VOCs online monitoring and traceability device in Hangzhou Development Zone of Zhejiang Province passed the acceptance test

With the acceleration of China's atmospheric control policy update, VOCs monitoring standards and governance programs are released. For the first time, the “13th Five-Year Plan” included VOCs into binding indicators. Since then, a series of VOCs monitoring standards and governance programs have been introduced one after another, which directly lays an important role in the governance of VOCs during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period.

These actions not only show that China has made strategic decisions on the governance of VOCs, but also directly reflect the determination and courage to win the blue sky defense war from the central to the local. It is self-evident that under the strong promotion of the central and local governments, the VOCs governance market will usher in explosive growth, and the market size is expected to exceed 150 billion yuan.

In order to support the smooth development of VOCs monitoring and management work, various related equipment and technical solutions are also constantly coming out to help the "blue sky defense war."

Recently, the automatic monitoring and traceability source system for ambient air volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the Hangzhou Development Zone of Zhejiang Province has passed the acceptance of the expert group. The expert group consists of Tian Xudong, Zhejiang Environmental Monitoring Center, He Wei, Hangzhou Environmental Monitoring Center Station, and Lv Sheng, Jiaxing Environmental Monitoring Center Station.

It is understood that this is the first online monitoring and traceability device for VOCs in the development zone. The device uses a non-negative least squares core algorithm to process the collected air within 5 km of the monitoring point and then make a contaminated gene fingerprint according to the ambient air characteristics. In general, it is like a sensitive nose, based on the concentration of different substances in the smell of air, to figure out which companies may emit volatile organic compounds.

With the gradual improvement of local standards and the implementation of relevant policies, it is expected to bring rapid business upgrades to enterprises. Of course, in order to grasp the competitive discourse right in the market of VOCs monitoring instruments, monitoring companies need to continue to explore in terms of technology, talents, services and channels.
