What is the trapped oil phenomenon of the gear pump The hydraulic gear pump is composed of a pair of intermeshing gears, and sucks and presses the oil through the change of volume when the gears are engaged and separated when rotating. When the gears are engaged, the hydraulic oil between the meshing two teeth cannot be discharged due to the sealing of the teeth, so that an oil trap phenomenon occurs. Trapped oil can generate high pressure, creating side pressure on the shaft, easily bending the shaft, prematurely damaging the bearings, and also consuming the motor's power. The solution is to open an oil draining groove on the side of the gear meshing to the oil discharge chamber so that the oil trapped between the two teeth can be discharged to eliminate the oil trapping phenomenon.
