As a result, the market demand for silicon from industrial silicon, organic silicon, and polysilicon has achieved strong growth.
According to statistics from China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association Silicon Industry Branch, from 2006 to 2010, China's industrial silicon production capacity increased from 1.7 million tons to 2.75 million tons, and production increased from 800,000 tons to 1.15 million tons; the annual production capacity of organic silicon monomer is The 365,000 tons increased to 1.7 million tons, the output increased from 240,000 tons to 750,000 tons; the annual polysilicon production capacity increased from 800 tons to 77,000 tons, and the output increased from 500 tons to 43,500 tons.
Zhao Jiasheng said: “At present, China is the largest producer and consumer of the global silicon industry. In 2010, the global production and consumption of industrial silicon accounted for 55% and 24%, respectively; the production and consumption of organic silicon monomers in the same period globally. The proportions were 25% and 34% respectively; the global production and consumption of polysilicon accounted for 25% and 50% respectively."
