Here are some photos I captured today, April 9th, 2014, of a large grass fire that occurred in Grayslake, near Route 60 and Behm Lane. The fire covered a significant area, and multiple fire departments were dispatched to the scene. It took about an hour and a half to fully put out the fire and clear the area. I also have a photo of Mundelein Ambulance 431 at Grayslake’s Station #3 during a change of shift, which was just across the street.
I’ve attached several images showing the intensity of the fire, the emergency response, and the equipment used. These photos give a real sense of how serious the situation was.
