A week of domestic soda ash market review: There is still some room for growth

Recently, under the influence of sustained growth in the domestic demand for soda ash industry, market prices have continued to rise. Manufacturers basically set the operating rate of production equipment to the best level to meet market demand as much as possible. The production in the northern region is in good condition. Due to energy sources in the southern region, the rate of increase in production has slowed down. The biggest factors currently affecting the soda ash market are the increase in energy costs including coal, electricity, logistics, and winter production. This week, the domestic mainstream average price, light alkali 1500 yuan / ton, heavy quality alkali 1550 yuan / ton. Light soda ash continues to maintain a rapid increase. It is expected that the domestic soda market price still has some room for growth.

Domestic soda ash exports continue to show growth momentum. This week's international crude oil market price has reached 55 US dollars / barrel, down 10% from the previous month, showing a rapid decline, but the crude oil price is still at a relatively high level. This still creates a favorable environment for the export of soda ash. The recent increase in the exchange rate of the RMB international market put pressure on the export of soda ash.

In November, the export volume of soda ash was 152.72 million tons, an increase of -6.0% compared with the same period of last year. From January to November, the total domestic soda ash exports were 1.66331 million tons, which was a year-on-year increase of 2.7% compared to the same period of last year. Compared with the export growth rate last month, it has fallen by nearly half. From January to November, the total volume of soda ash exports accounted for 14.56% of the domestic total cumulative production of 14.462 million tons.

In the month of November, the country imported 19,500 tons of soda ash, which was 1.3% compared with the domestic output of 1,451,000 tons. From January to November, cumulative total soda ash imports totaled 142,300 tons, an increase of 247.0% year-on-year. Accumulative total imports accounted for 0.96% of the cumulative total of 14.562 million tons of domestic soda ash.
