On August 28, the Beijing New Energy Automobile Design and Engineering Center was announced at the headquarters of Foton Motor Company. The main purpose is to further integrate existing research and development resources of Foton Motor's existing new energy fields, and give full play to Foton Motor's new energy vehicles. The advantages of research and development, attracting single technology combined with the vehicle R&D platform to achieve integrated innovation, further stimulating the upstream and downstream industry chains, and attracting new partners to participate in the existing R&D system of production, education, and research.

Integrate social forces

It is understood that the establishment of the center will become a platform for further integrating the forces of various sectors of the society. Through the development of research and development hardware, it will open up the scientific and technological innovation value chain from basic research, application development, system integration, technology transfer, and industrialization. The research on the integration of key technologies for the integration of energy vehicles and power systems will lay the foundation for the further development of new energy vehicles with independent intellectual property rights. At the same time, Foton Motor also hopes to use this center to continue to attract domestic and foreign industrial technology talents to join Foton, and to strengthen the research and development strength of Foton Motor in the field of new energy vehicles.

According to Zhao Jingguang, Secretary-General of Beijing New Energy Automobile Industry Alliance, Beijing New Energy Vehicle Design and Engineering Center is the second research institute of Futian Automobile that broke ground in October 2008 after it was put into use in the first phase of the Engineering Research Institute building in January 2007. The project will cover an area of ​​about 25,000 square meters and a total investment of more than 144 million yuan.

The completion of the center will further strengthen the R&D strength of the Beijing New Energy Automobile Industry Base formed on the basis of Foton Motor, and enhance the attractiveness of Beijing New Energy Automobile Industry Alliance. The completion of the center is also an important step in the development strategy of Foton Auto's new energy vehicles. Futian Motor will continue to focus its independent R&D of new energy vehicles on the strategic layout of the company.

Strengthen the strength of the industrial base

At present, the research and development capabilities of the Beijing New Energy Automotive Design and Manufacturing Industry Base have covered the Beijing New Energy Vehicle Design and Engineering Center, the Key Laboratory of Energy Saving and Emission Reduction, and the Green Energy Pilot Plant and other professional R&D and design centers to meet the needs of green energy vehicles in R&D, The needs of design, trial production, and manufacturing stages are currently the largest green energy R&D center in China.

In terms of production capacity, Beijing New Energy Automotive Design and Manufacturing Industry Base has five major engine manufacturing processes including chassis manufacturing, body manufacturing, electrophoretic painting, assembly and testing, and five major passenger car manufacturing processes and machining, and ATPU. Among them, the passenger car manufacturing has reached the international advanced level, and the engine manufacturer has achieved the highest level of energy efficiency in the world with its 400,000 units of capacity and high-pressure common-rail diesel engine that can meet Euro IV, Euro V and Euro VI emission standards. Using this as a platform, the Beijing New Energy Automotive Industry Alliance, which is currently located in Futian Automobile, has attracted more and more companies to join and is growing. The alliance was initiated by more than 50 units including Beiqi Holding Company, Beijing Public Transport Group and Beijing Institute of Technology. Currently, there are more than 60 enterprises including Jingjin Electric Technology Co., Ltd., CITIC Guoan League Co., Ltd., and Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and China Launch Vehicle. Clear New Energy Automobile Industry Planning

As the backbone of commercial vehicles in China, Foton Motor actively responds to the country's call for energy-saving and emission reduction and carefully plans and studies new energy automotive technologies. From 2003 onwards, Foton Motors will focus on the development and application of new energy as the core strategy for corporate development. 2005 The company invested 500 million yuan to build a key laboratory for energy conservation and emission reduction with leading domestic standards. At present, the new energy automobile projects undertaken by Foton Motor include the 12m pure electric bus project that Beijing Bus Group plans to add in 2009; as the vehicle unit, it will jointly undertake the 11th Five-Year Plan 863 project, the fuel cell vehicle development project, with Tsinghua University; In cooperation with the Beijing Institute of Technology and the China Academy of Science and Technology, we undertook the 863 project, the hybrid vehicle technology research and development project of the rechargeable hybrid Midi, and cooperated with the Beijing Institute of Technology to develop a pure electric sanitation vehicle.
