According to the statistics provided by the customs on imports and exports, compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the analysis of the import and export of engine parts and components in December 2009 is as follows:
First, the export of engine parts and components
In December 2009, the export value of engine component products was US$276 million, an increase of 31.26% over the same period of last year.
From January to December, the cumulative export value of engine parts and components was US$2.453 billion, a decrease of 15.72% from the same period of last year.
From January to December, engine components exported to major countries: the United States, Japan, Vietnam, Germany, and South Korea.
II. Imports of engine parts and components
In December 2009, the import value of engine component products was US$291 million, an increase of 52.92% over the same period of last year.
From January to December, the accumulative import amount of engine parts and components was 2.269 billion U.S. dollars, a decrease of 5.39% from the same period of last year.
From January to December, engine components were imported from major countries: Japan, Germany, South Korea, the United States, and France.
