This project is the third gearbox base that Geely has started construction in China. With the start of the project, Geely Automobile has initially formed the national layout of the three gearbox bases in Hunan Xiangtan, Jining, Shandong, and Chongqing Tongliang. The transmission (dual-clutch automatic transmission for vehicles) has 300,000 units, and it is expected to realize an annual sales income of 3.6 billion yuan and an annual tax of 180 million yuan.
The Chongqing DSI supersonic container project is not only supported by Geely Automobile's subsidiaries, but is expected to be used by other car companies. After the project is put into production, Chongqing automakers are also expected to first use the "Chongqing-made" automatic transmission. At present, the gearbox in Chongqing can only supply large cars, ships, and a small portion of low-grade cars. The gearbox of mid- to high-end cars is still blank. After the Geely transmission project is settled, it will further improve the Chongqing automobile industry chain and will also enhance the overall competitiveness of the Chongqing automobile industry.
