Minister Kong Meilin introduced that Agritechnica 2017 will have three highlights worth looking forward to and attention.
First, mechanized plant protection instead of chemical plant protection. From the perspective of environmental protection and extraction rate, more and more innovative technologies are applied to agricultural equipment, spraying pesticides, improving drug efficiency, or directly using mechanical means to control pests and diseases and reducing pesticide application. Such as predictive models, nozzle technology, GPS-controlled drones and robotics, advanced products and technologies such as weeders and straw crushers equipped with stereo cameras, will be unveiled at the booth dedicated to the exhibition.
Second, the 3rd International Agricultural Machinery Conference entered the emerging markets. The International Agricultural Machinery Conference is a special forum of Agritechnica. It invites experts and scholars from around the world to discuss the current status of global agriculture, agricultural machinery technology, products and market development, and predict future development trends. At this year's exhibition, the 3rd International Agricultural Machinery Conference will hold three forums, including the theme forum of “Positive Prospects under Political Uncertainty” for emerging markets such as China, Russia and Ukraine.
The third is the Young Farmer's Day event. At that time, there will be many internationally renowned agricultural machinery companies training young farmers on the spot, aiming to increase production efficiency and increase profits by using new technologies. This event will attract more than 4,000 young farmers to participate actively.

As the organizer of Agritechnica, the German Agricultural Association (DLG) has a long history. In 1885, while almost the world's tractors were on the market, a German engineer, Max Eyth, created the DLG. At that time, the process of agricultural mechanization was just beginning. Max Eyth used his unique eyes to realize that “globalization” will become an important direction for the development of agriculture and agricultural machinery in the future. Therefore, he established the development goal of the German Agricultural Association as “committed to promoting agriculture. Knowledge and technological advancement and development in the field." In order to achieve this goal, efforts must be made to promote the sharing of innovative technological knowledge in the global agricultural sector in order to increase the productivity of global agriculture.
DLG is a politically and financially independent organization with more than 28,000 members worldwide, most of whom are innovative and forward-looking farmers. DLG is also a non-profit organization. According to German financial law, non-profit means that all profits earned by the association must be used to invest in agriculture. A typical example is the organization of conferences and forums on the theme of agricultural development, the costs of which are independently borne by the association.
DLG's main business covers four aspects: organizing exhibitions; food testing and certification; agricultural machinery testing and certification; and agricultural technology development. Taking the exhibition as an example, DLG held two international exhibitions under its framework: Eurotier and Agritechnica, both of which are the world's largest and most influential exhibitions in their respective fields. In addition, DLG holds more than 30 exhibitions and forums outside Germany every year.
Currently, DLG has established 8 overseas offices in Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Romania, Turkey, the Netherlands, Russia and China. The main business scope of DLG China Office includes organizing domestic enterprises to participate in various exhibitions under DLG, organizing Chinese technicians to go to Germany to participate in agricultural training, organizing the implementation of Sino-German youth agricultural practical talent capacity building projects, and implementing Sino-German cooperation in modern agriculture demonstration. The project organizes the Sino-German Biogas Cooperation Forum, organizes German companies to participate in the China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition, and other related activities.
