Application of Spiral Chute:
The spiral chute is a gravity separation device designed to separate different proportions of non-ferrous metals, rare metals, and non-metallic minerals. It is commonly used for processing materials such as iron ore, gold ore, ilmenite, chromite, pyrites, zircon, rutile, monazite, phosphorite, tungsten ore, tin, tantalum, niobium ore, and more.
Working Principle:
Spiral chutes operate under the influence of water flow, gravity, inertial centrifugal force, and friction. Slurry is pumped to the top of the spiral, where it enters a feed distributor that evenly distributes the material across each spiral concentrator. The design and shape of the spiral, combined with gravitational acceleration, allow for efficient mineral sorting. As the slurry moves along the spiral, mineral grains settle and are separated based on size, density, and to a lesser extent, shape. Low-density particles are carried outward by the water flow, while high-density particles move inward towards the center of the spiral.
