Car sales rankings change every month, Beijing Hyundai squeezes into the top five for the first time

Yesterday, the latest statistics released by the Chinese auto industry show that as of the end of August, Shanghai Volkswagen maintained the status of sales volume first. What attracts people's attention most is that Beijing Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. has sold a total of 78,500 cars this year, ranking fifth in the nation's car companies for the first time in sales, and rising two places higher than the sales ranking in July. According to industry sources, Beijing Hyundai was able to perform well in August with a downturn in the auto market (the total demand for cars dropped by 3.3%), which rose by 18.3%. Recently, Beijing Hyundai’s price reductions of 10% on its entire line of products have shown its strong market offensive. It is reported that in the sales ranking released by the Chinese auto industry at the end of July, Beijing Hyundai ranked seventh, with the top six being Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, Guangzhou Honda, Tianjin FAW and Changan Suzuki. In the latest August sales ranking, Beijing Hyundai pushed Tianjin FAW and Changan Suzuki out of the top five, and Shanghai GM replaced FAW Volkswagen as the second child. People in the industry believe that the ranking of car sales this year has changed substantially every month. This shows that the competition in China's auto industry has entered a "white fever" stage. (Reporter Chen Wenjia)
