Fuzhou Yihua Sulfuric Acid Chemical Co., Ltd. (formerly known as Fuzhou Sulfuric Acid Factory) has recently announced its plan to auction and transfer a range of machinery, equipment, and inventory, with a reference price set at 6.87 million yuan. The company, which was established in Fuzhou back in 1958, is an old state-owned enterprise that has been in operation for decades.
The assets up for sale include a wide variety of production facilities such as manufacturing workshops, piping systems, storage tanks, distribution units, and laboratory instruments. In addition, electrical equipment from non-production areas, transportation vehicles, high-voltage power distribution systems, sulfur storage tanks, and other auxiliary facilities are also part of the auction. On the inventory side, the company is offering finished products, raw materials, packaging supplies, hardware and plumbing items, electrical appliances, meters, various accessories, and labor protection products.
Chen Xianzhen, the deputy general manager of Fuzhou Yihua Sulfuric Acid Co., Ltd., shared with reporters that the ideal outcome of this auction would be attracting strong chemical companies to purchase the equipment and inventory for reuse. However, the current situation presents challenges. Although more than 30 potential bidders initially showed interest in visiting the site, many were primarily interested in the scrap value of the equipment rather than their functional use.
A local material recycling business owner, surnamed Lin, expressed his opinion that the reference price of 6.87 million yuan is too high. He explained that his main interest lies in the iron and metal components of the equipment, not the entire machines themselves. He admitted that the condition of the equipment and inventory in the factory left him somewhat disappointed.
Other material recycling companies present at the scene also noted a significant gap between the listed reference price and their own expectations. According to Chen Xianzhen, the pricing strategy is not solely based on the value of recyclable materials but also considers the potential of the equipment for future production. He emphasized that the factory’s machinery is still functional and should not be wasted. “Lianjiang-based chemical companies have already contacted us and are still in discussions,†he added. However, the challenge remains: relocating and reactivating these machines would require substantial investment, and only a few chemical companies possess the necessary resources to do so.
