Buffalo Grove firefighters responded to a two-car collision on McHenry Road near the entrance of The Grove shopping center, north of Lake-Cook Road, this morning (June 7, 2015). Upon arrival, Battalion 4 reported that two SUVs were involved, with one partially hanging over an embankment into a drainage culvert. One of the vehicles was overturned, and while the two occupants in the car on the street declined medical attention, the other two were trapped inside and required rescue.
Firefighters used rescue jacks to stabilize the vehicle and secured it to the fire truck’s quint. Rescue tools were then deployed on both sides of the car to safely extract the trapped individuals.
