Wheeling firefighters responded to a mobile home fire at 298 Tilbury Lane in Whippletree Village just before 3:00 AM on Monday, April 18, 2016. Upon arrival, the first units reported flames inside the mobile home and immediately upgraded the call to a working fire, designated as Code 4. Firefighters quickly brought the flames under control within 10 minutes and remained on scene for an additional hour to perform overhaul and ensure the fire was fully extinguished. Additional support came from neighboring departments in Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights, and Northbrook. I arrived on the scene shortly after the 10-minute mark.
