Buffalo Grove firefighters were dispatched to McHenry Road and the entrance of The Grove shopping center, north of Lake-Cook Road, this morning (June 7, 2015) following a two-car collision. One of the vehicles was flipped onto its side. Battalion 4 arrived on scene and reported that two SUVs were involved in the crash, with one partially hanging over an embankment and into a drainage culvert.
The two people in the car that was still on the road declined medical treatment, but the other two occupants were trapped inside the vehicle and required rescue. Firefighters used rescue jacks to stabilize the car and secured it to the fire truck’s quint while they worked on both sides of the vehicle to free the injured individuals.
