From an article on fleetequipmentmag.com:
Dylan Mercier, a 19-year-old owner/operator from St. Anne, Illinois, is excited to finally get his custom Mack Vision tractor and grain trailer onto the road. A dedicated firefighter, Dylan bought the 2005 truck with his dad just over a year ago, and since then, he’s been working on turning it into something truly unique.
“I got a firefighter costume for the Mack bulldog on the hood, and after that, I knew exactly what I wanted to do,†Mercier shared. “It wasn’t just about making it look good — it was about honoring those who have served.â€
The rig is packed with aftermarket upgrades, and both the truck and trailer are wrapped in a striking vinyl design that pays tribute to fallen firefighters. It's more than just a vehicle — it's a symbol of pride and respect.
“Driving this truck feels like carrying a piece of my community with me every time I hit the road,†Mercier said. “But right now, it's more of a show and parade truck. The insurance costs for hauling with a for-hire license are way too high, especially since I'm under 21.â€
Despite the limitations, Dylan isn't giving up. He's using the truck as a way to raise awareness and support for first responders, while also keeping his dream of operating a commercial fleet alive.
