I recently came across some exciting updates about two fire departments that have added impressive new vehicles to their fleets. As I mentioned in earlier posts (you can check them out [here](#) and [here](#)), both the Homewood Fire Department and the Hillside Fire Department have received brand-new rear-mount aerials from Pierce. Big thanks go out to Ryan Wyckoff for sharing his photos from his recent visit to the Pierce factory last month. Just this week, Pierce released an array of stunning images, including these two beauties, on their official Flickr page.
Let’s start with the Homewood Fire Department. Their latest acquisition is a 2011 Pierce Arrow XT with a 105-foot rear-mount ladder. This state-of-the-art vehicle is not only a workhorse but also a testament to modern firefighting technology. The crisp lines and clean design of the Arrow XT make it stand out, while its functionality ensures it can handle any emergency situation with ease. The image provided by Pierce showcases the ladder truck beautifully, highlighting its sleek appearance and impressive reach.
Next up is the Hillside Fire Department, which has taken delivery of a 2011 Pierce Velocity XT with another 105-foot rear-mount ladder. Known for its innovative design and reliability, the Velocity series is a favorite among firefighters. Hillside’s new Truck 403 looks absolutely stunning in the accompanying photo. The Velocity XT combines power and agility, making it an ideal addition to their fleet. The picture captures the vehicle’s robust build and highlights its ability to navigate tight spaces effectively.
These additions are more than just shiny new toys; they represent significant upgrades in firefighting capabilities for both departments. It’s always thrilling to see how advancements in technology continue to enhance safety and efficiency in such critical roles. If you’re into fire trucks or emergency services, be sure to check out the full collection of images on the Pierce Flickr page—they’re truly something to behold!
